Annabel Lee - Edgar Allan Poe
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
This is actually one of my favorite poems. It’s too sweet for me. I just can feel every single ounce of love..
But we loved with a love that was more than love is my favorite line.
I remember that I even wrote 2 poems inspired by this line..
I wanna feed the person I’d be spending the rest of my life with, with lots of love poems or even short notes everyday just to make him smile every single day. Maybe a love poem every anniversay? Or a very short love note like I love you with a love that is more than love every morning/week?
Tons of cute surprises just to keep the fire burning even if our hair starts to change its color..
I just wanna be really sweet and loving.
I want my next love to reach “forever”.
I pray.
Natabunan lang ng tapang, inuman at tawanan.
Malulunod na lang sa mga salitang hindi kayang bitawan.
Hindi ko lubusang maunawaan bakit ‘di mabura ng tuluyan.
Nawa’y isang araw humantong rin sa katapusan.
I wonder who’s going to always be there,
And I wonder who’s gonna love me forever.
I wonder who’s going to kiss me everyday,
And I wonder who’s the person who’ll never surrender.
And I wonder when will our eyes meet.
Oh I always wonder how he looks like.
And would he really make my heart skip a beat,
And make everything feel so perfect and right?
Every single night before I go to sleep,
I wonder when will I see his beautiful face.
Will it be tomorrow or the next week?
Oh God where is that magical place?
I’d be wondering until we finally meet
And by then I’d be the perfect girl for him.
I’d feel that spark from my head to my feet,
And then I’ll know that it’s not only a dream.

These are all true. I always dream of him. I’m a hopeless romantic. I thirst for love.
P.S. The last line of the last stanza doesn’t really rhyme with the 2nd. Been thinking of how to fix it but my mind won’t work. Will just make my next poem better. :)

I don’t have to see you nor be with you everyday.
This feeling I got keep me in an unexplainable state of trance
I love you, and maybe it will always stay this way.

Days, months, or years apart may not make this disappear.
What I feel will just stay here deep down inside,
This is pure, without a hint of anger nor fear.

Without romantic gestures and romantic dates.
I guess my love for you can continue without kisses and hugs,
And maybe, just maybe, this is truly what my fate states.
I love you with a love that can survive any sadness or pain,
Still here I am loving you with all my heart.
I love you every sunshine, every sunset, every rain,
In my life you will always have a huge part.
But you don’t love me with a love that can survive all these,
Am I really the only one who gave the strongest kind of love?
